United Federal Credit Union Raises $1,000 and 180 Pairs of Shoes for Girls on the Run

RENO, Nev. – During the month of February, United Federal Credit Union (United) and its members raised $1,000 for donation to Girls on the Run—Sierras. Additionally, United donated 180 pairs of shoes that were collected during the month-long campaign. Financial donations and shoes were collected at United’s Reno branches.

A check presentation event was held on March 6 at United’s Reno Double R branch with comments by United Double R Branch Manager, Stephanie Arroyo, United’s Market Vice President, Meredith Williams, and Girls on the Run—Sierras Executive Director, Joy Heuer.

“We want to support these girls not only in their physical health, but also in their financial health. We are really proud to be a part of an organization that is backing this community with dollars and action,” said United’s Double R Branch Manager, Stephanie Arroyo.

Girls on the Run is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls to pursue healthy lifestyles and positivity. Girls on the Run currently hosts more than 350 end-of-season 5K events across the United States.

United Federal Credit Union has been a long-time partner of Girls on the Run in southwest Michigan, and in 2019 was happy to add support to the Girls on the Run Sierras chapter in Reno, Nevada.
