FORT SMITH, Ark. – United Federal Credit Union (United) is excited to announce it is partnering with the Fort Smith Boys & Girls Club ‘Stand With U’ mentoring program for a second year. United’s partnership with the Fort Smith Boys & Girls Club includes a donation of $5,000 to the organization.

The 'Stand With U' mentoring program provides Fort Smith Boys & Girls Club members the opportunity to receive one-on-one guidance through weekly meetings. The program is made possible by community volunteer mentors who serve as positive role models committed to enhancing a child’s self-esteem and self-confidence.

United places a high value on supporting the communities in which it serves, especially when it comes to investing in its future through a focus on giving back to the area’s children.

“As a member of the Fort Smith community, United is honored to support an organization such as the Boys & Girls Club,” says Mishelle Cauldwell, Rogers Avenue branch manager. “By supporting the youth of the community, we are investing in the future of Fort Smith.”

The ‘Stand With U’ volunteer mentor is responsible for building the character of the mentee. From playing a computer game or ping-pong to tackling a homework assignment, the mentor provides positive reinforcement and friendship that can make all the difference in a child’s future.

“The more success our children see, the brighter future Fort Smith can expect,” says Fort Smith Boys & Girls Club director of operations Jason Morland. “Without the support of community leaders like United, our organization wouldn’t have the resources it needs to reach as many local children in need as we do today. We are grateful for the responsibility to our community that United exemplifies.”
