ST. JOSEPH, Mich. – United Federal Credit Union (United) has announced plans to open two new branches in northwest Arkansas, one in Rogers and one in Springdale. The branch in Rogers will be located at 2000 S. Promenade Boulevard, and the branch in Springdale will be located at 6706 W. Sunset Avenue.
“United is all about delivering an outstanding financial experience to our members,” said President/CEO, Terry O’Rourke. “We’re thrilled to be the new kid on the block, and even if the great people of Benton and Washington counties aren’t familiar with who we are or how to join, we invite them to stop by and say ‘hello’. The team at United is excited to get to work and introduce our unique style to these two wonderful communities.”
Eleven employees have already been hired and are making connections in the communities, including: Amber Murphy, Promenade branch manager; Scott Jeffus, director of mortgage sales; Ron Martindale, mortgage advisor; Jason Fields, mortgage advisor; Anita Ritter, mortgage advisor; Bert Nichols, mortgage advisor; James Patton, business service advisor; and Michael Rewerts, regional marketing development manager.
United will look to fill more positions for the Promenade and Sunset locations in the next several months.
“It has been important for us to get a great team in place even before these branches officially open,” said O’Rourke. “United is committed to making a real difference in the lives of our members and in each community we call home—it all starts with having a dedicated team of professionals who have a passion for serving northwest Arkansas.”
These new branches will grow United’s presence in Arkansas where it already operates branches in Fort Smith, Van Buren, and Alma as well as a branch in the Springdale Walmart Supercenter.
United is headquartered in St. Joseph, Michigan, and first started serving members in Arkansas in 1981 when Whirlpool Employee Credit Union in Fort Smith merged with Whirlpool Employees Federal Credit Union in Michigan.
The branches are scheduled to be open in the summer of 2019. Once open, the new branches will offer a full complement of services including loans, mortgages, checking accounts, debit and credit cards, investment planning and business lending.
