Celebrating International Women’s Day

United Federal Credit Union is taking the time on International Women’s Day to recognize the accomplishments of its female employees and women around the world. The day has been observed on March 8 for more than 110 years. It celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women around the world.

United understands having an inclusive and diverse mix of excellent employees strengthens us on every level, and helps us deliver the best results for our members. For us, 70% of United’s employees are women. That includes 59% of our management and above positions being held by women.

United's Statistics: 70% of United employees are women which equates to 534 female employees. 80 are managers and 59% are in management positions or above.

“Embracing diversity at United helps us ensure we can relate to all our members,” said Kimetha Firpo, Chief Human Resources Officer. “Every day we hire, promote and provide meaningful, challenging and rewarding opportunities to all employees. Our mission is to enhance our members’ lives and improve our communities: supporting a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce helps us better understand our members and support them with the products and services that meet their needs.”

United is proud to support the mission of International Women’s Day: To forge inclusive work cultures where women’s careers thrive and their achievements are celebrated.
