Carson City, Nevada – United Federal Credit Union is excited to announce a new two-year partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada.

As part of the partnership, United donated $4,000 to the Club and has pledged to donate another $4,000 in 2021.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Club, which has locations in Carson City and Carson Valley, had to step up to meet the expanded needs of the community.

“We are all in this together and we recognize that this has been a challenging time for parents and our youth, but we are excited to be able to continue providing unique programs to our members,” said Katie Leao, CEO of The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada. “United Federal Credit Union invested in our work force development teen program that will continue to enhance our Junior Staff training program.”

Since April, the Club has been able to provide more than 18,000 breakfasts and lunches to the youth in their community. It has also distributed Go kits to members and community kids which include a weeks’ worth of activities and snacks.

“United’s commitment to our community - “people helping people”, never wavered during these challenging times,” said Christie Asis, Regional Market Development Manager, United Federal Credit Union. “We are passionate in partnering with organizations that make a difference and create an impact in our community. This partnership strengthens our overall relationship with the Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada, and with the two branches we have in Carson City supporting, we are elated with the outcome.”
