who we are

We get U because we are U! Our humble beginnings started in Southwest Michigan, and we’re proud to still call it our home after more than 70 years of serving Members.

United is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative—that means we pass profits to our Members through lower loan rates, higher dividend rates, and by investing in convenient locations and emerging technology.

But most importantly, your money is safe with us! We’ve received a five-star rating from Bauer Financial for 23 straight years and we’re well-capitalized for the future.

With Michigan’s Great Southwest as our home base, we’ve grown to positively impact communities in five other states including Arkansas, Indiana, Ohio, Nevada, and North Carolina.

Our regional diversity allows us to offer unique products and services, adding greater value to your membership.

Best of all, each community still enjoys local leadership and local decision making. You know our team because we’re your friends, family, and neighbors—proudly assisting Members and serving as volunteers supporting non-profits across Southwest Michigan.
