Truity Credit Union And United Federal Credit Union Agree to Springdale Branch Transition

Springdale, Arkansas - Truity Credit Union (Truity) has agreed to a partnership with United Federal Credit Union (United) that will give United ownership of Truity’s Springdale, Arkansas, branch located at 1910 South Thompson Street.

As part of the agreement, United will take over branch operations at the South Thompson Street location on April 5, 2021—retaining all employees and providing membership opportunity for Truity’s approximately 6,000 Arkansas members.

Truity will continue to operate branches in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas.

United’s reputation for outstanding member service, employee engagement and commitment to growth in Northwest Arkansas, made it a viable partner for Truity’s leadership team.

“We wanted to find a partner that we trusted and felt comfortable with to continue our relationship-based service in Springdale,” said Truity President/CEO Dennis Halpin. “The team at United checks all the boxes. Not only do they live the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people,’ they have a proven record of growth and involvement in the communities they serve. We feel confident that our members and employees will thrive under United’s leadership.”

While United has had a presence in the Fort Smith/Van Buren area for decades, it began expansion into the Northwest Arkansas in 2015 and most recently opened two freestanding, full-service branches in 2019—one in Springdale at 6706 West Sunset Avenue, and one in Rogers at 2000 South Promenade Boulevard.

“We are extremely excited to welcome new teammates and members to United’s Arkansas family,” said Stephanie Riffle, United’s Market Vice President in Arkansas. “Our growth in Northwest Arkansas is due to the fact that we are so inspired by the energy and progress being made in our community every day. United is dedicated to not only serving our members’ financial needs, but also supporting the individuals, businesses, schools and non-profit organizations that make Springdale and the neighboring area so vibrant and special.”

During the transition, Truity members and employees will receive ongoing updates and communications so the process is as seamless as possible.

“Right from the start we want to roll out the red carpet for new members and employees because that’s who we are,” said Riffle. “At United we believe in building relationships that last and being a credit union that people can rely on. We recognize that sometimes change can be challenging, but it can also be really positive—and that’s what our team will focus on as we work towards a seamless onboarding process.”
