how does Card Controls work?
You can enroll in Card Controls by selecting Card Controls from the shortcut menu in United’s digital banking. Once you are enrolled, you’ll have access to greater control of your card(s) and enhanced visibility into your financial transactions, helping you make smarter spending decisions.

Receive real-time card transactions alerts each time your card is used via push notification and email
Reset your PIN
Quickly and easily set or update your card's PIN to keep your account safe and secure.
Turn Your Card On/Off
Whether you misplaced your card or spot a transaction you don't recognize, immediately turn your card on/off.
Manage Travel Plans
Let United know that you will be traveling and to expect transactions outside your normal card activity location.

A: Simply select Card Controls from the shortcuts listed in digital banking. Card Controls will open in United’s mobile app or online banking website.
A: With United’s Card Controls, you have access to a list of features, including:
- Real-Time Card Alerts – Receive real-time card transaction alerts each time your card is used via push notification or email.
- Card Controls – Block all transactions on a card or block by specific transaction types including merchant categories, merchant location, and transaction amount.
- Turn Card On/Off - Whether you misplaced your card or spot a transaction you don’t recognize, immediately turn your card on/off.
- Manage Travel Plans – Let United know that you will be traveling and to expect transactions outside your normal card activity location.
- Reset & Update PIN – Quickly and easily set or update your card’s PIN to keep your account safe and secure.

A: Card Controls is a convenient way for you to manage your United Cards through Digital Banking. Use Card Controls to manage United cards, set spending limits based on location, know where your card is stored online, and report lost/stolen cards in a few clicks
A: No. As of July 24th, 2024, Card Control features are available in the United Mobile App. The former United Card Controls app will no longer work.
