HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – More than a year after the devastation from Hurricane Helene, United Federal Credit Union (United) celebrated the reopening of its Hendersonville South branch at a new location. United’s new branch at 855 Spartanburg Hwy officially opened on Monday, September 29, with a ribbon cutting happening on Monday, October 20.

United had been operating only one branch in Hendersonville after its previous Hendersonville South location suffered flood damage in the September 2024 storm. As the community worked to rebuild, United dedicated itself to rebuilding right alongside.
“We are excited to welcome members back to a second Hendersonville location,” said Michael Bridges, North Carolina Regional Vice President. “When our Hendersonville South branch couldn't reopen due to storm damage, we quickly searched for a new site and worked to get back up and running. United remains committed to serving the community, and this reopening demonstrates our ongoing investment in the Hendersonville area.”
Leading the team at the new location is branch manager, Jeremy Johnson. He started in the role in May 2025 to ensure the new Hendersonville South location reopening could take place as smoothly as possible. He brings a strong understanding of Member needs and a passion for community engagement.
“We are so proud of the resilience of our community here in Hendersonville, and in greater western North Carolina,” said Johnson. “Our team has spent the last several weeks welcoming back Members to United’s second branch in town. The response we’ve received has been overwhelmingly positive and appreciative. We look forward to once again being able to deliver exceptional service in this area for years to come.”
As part of the ribbon cutting celebration, United also presented a $5,000 community donation to The Storehouse Food Pantry, reinforcing its commitment to supporting locals in need and easing hunger in Henderson County. Lynn Staggs, Executive Director and Founder of The Storehouse, accepted the check on behalf of the organization. The contribution is part of United’s ongoing commitment to helping provide necessities for those in need and so no one must face food insecurity.
