ST. JOSEPH, Mich. – As United Federal Credit Union (United) continues to grow and evolve to better serve its members and communities, the organization is proud to announce the promotion of Meredith Williams and Kate Mahan to new leadership roles. Williams has moved into Senior Vice President of Retail, and Mahan is now Senior Vice President of Risk, General Counsel. These strategic promotions reflect United’s commitment to developing talent from within and positioning experienced leaders to help guide the organization through its next phase of expansion and impact.

Meredith Williams, Senior Vice President of Retail
Williams brings two decades of financial experience to her new role. She has spent the last eight years leading United’s Nevada market as Regional Vice President (RVP). Her strong track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering exceptional member experiences will allow her to further strengthen and scale United’s retail operations.
In her new role, Williams will lead United Federal Credit Union’s branch network, helping ensure members receive consistent, high-quality experiences at every location while improving how retail operations run and bringing the organization’s overall service strategy to life in branches.
Williams is actively involved in the Reno community. She currently is a board member for the Reno/Sparks Chamber of Commerce, a board member for the Girl Scouts of Sierra Nevada, and is a Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor.
Kate Mahan, Senior Vice President Risk, General Counsel
Mahan moves into her new role with nearly two decades as a licensed attorney. She has been with United since 2011, and most recently has served as the credit union’s VP, General Counsel for the last five years.
In her new role, Mahan will lead risk, compliance, fraud, legal, and collections teams, working with leadership, regulators, and the Board to protect the credit union’s integrity while supporting growth and innovation.
Mahan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hillsdale College, and her J.D. from Pennsylvania State University, The Dickinson School of Law. In her community, she is a board member for Trinity Lutheran School in Jackson, Michigan.
