ST. JOSEPH, Mich. – United Federal Credit Union’s (United) annual United Way employee fundraising campaign raised $45,750, with employee contributions hitting $22,875 which the credit union matched dollar-for-dollar. The funds will be distributed to 13 United Way chapters across the country.

United Federal Credit Union Employee Contribution CampaignUnited FCU was a Pace Setter Organization for this year’s United Way Employee Contribution Campaign

This year, United’s employees exceeded expectations. The 2026 campaign saw a 49% jump in employee participation and a 44% increase in employee giving compared to its 2025 campaign.

This year, United was a Pacesetter organization for the United Way of Southwest Michigan, moving its campaign from fall to summer. Pacesetters kick off the workplace fundraising campaign season. According to the United Way of Southwest Michigan, these campaigns start early in the season, set ambitious goals of increasing funds raised or increasing participation, and are responsible for building momentum in the community as other organizations run their own workplace campaigns.

“When we revived our Pacesetter program to kick off the fundraising season with strong community supporters, we knew United Federal Credit Union would be up to the challenge,” said Zack East, Senior Director of Organizational Sustainability for the United Way of Southwest Michigan. “Their results just continue to prove United is an exception community partner, locally and throughout the country!”

"I am very proud of how our employees responded to this year's United Way campaign. Taking on the role of a Pacesetter organization gave us an opportunity to lead by example, and Team United answered the call,” said Terry O’Rourke, President/CEO of United. “It was inspiring to see our employees come together to support causes that make a real difference in their own communities. That's what this campaign is all about; neighbors helping neighbors. Every gift, no matter the size, helps strengthen the places where we live, work, and raise our families.”

The United Way Employee Contribution Campaign reflects United's ongoing commitment to the credit union philosophy of people helping people and its dedication to making a positive impact in the communities it serves. Over the the last five years, United has raised more than $206,000 during its annual United Way Employee Contribution Campaign, supporting 19 United Way organizations around the country.
