Held during Marion's Third Thursday festivities, the Dunk Tank Challenge brought together local businesses, community leaders, volunteers, and residents for an evening of friendly competition and philanthropy. Thanks to the generosity of donors, sponsors, and participants, the event exceeded expectations in its third year and set an event record for generating needed funding to support Boys & Girls Club programs.

United Federal Credit Union matched the first $2,500, helping amplify community donations and encouraging greater participation throughout the fundraiser. In addition to its financial support, United employees participated in event activities and helped promote the fundraiser across the Marion community.

"“The Boys & Girls Club of Marion County changes lives every single day. Their commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment for local youth is truly inspiring,” said Amy Marshall, United’s Marion Branch Manager. “United Federal Credit Union is committed to support their mission and stand alongside an organization that does so much to help children build confidence, develop important life skills, and dream bigger for their futures. We are grateful for the Boys & Girls Club team, volunteers, and supporters who work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of our kids.”

Funds raised through the Dunk Tank Challenge fundraiser will support Boys & Girls Club programs that provide youth with academic support, workforce readiness experiences, emotional wellness resources, mentorship, and leadership development opportunities.

"The Dunk Tank Challenge is a wonderful example of what can happen when businesses, community partners, and volunteers come together to invest in our youth,” said Leslie Schneider, Regional Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Marion County. “Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, participants, and supporters, we raised more than $11,000 to help provide local youth with opportunities to learn, grow, and become Future Ready. We are especially grateful to United Federal Credit Union for their continued partnership and commitment to making a lasting impact in the community."

The Boys & Girls Club of Marion County is celebrating 30 years of serving Marion youth, and every dollar raised will provide safe, supportive spaces, caring mentors, and future-ready opportunities for the next generation.
