United Marketing SMS Text Messaging Program Terms of Service

By texting “START” to [short code number] or by providing us with your first name, last name, mobile phone number, and selection of the dedicated check box or similar specified method of expressing your consent we may make available to you, you agree to participate in United Federal Credit Union’s United Marketing SMS Text Messaging Program (our “Marketing Text Program”) and agree to these United Marketing SMS Text Messaging Program Terms of Service (“Terms”), as they may be modified from time to time, so long as you participate in the Marketing Text Program. 

Participating in the Marketing Text Program offered by United Federal Credit Union (“United”, “we”, “us”, and “our") means we may send SMS text messages to you for the purpose of marketing our products and services. Participation in our Marketing Text Program is not a condition to applying for or receiving any of our products or services. You may opt out of the Marketing Text Program at any time.

All Marketing Text Program text messages will be sent to your mobile device using the mobile phone number you provide to us for such purpose. The number of Marketing Text Program text messages you receive will vary but will never be more than two (2) per week. Our Marketing Text Program does not include account or transaction-related text messages, such as account alerts or identity verification codes, that we may otherwise send to you. 

We do not charge for any Marketing Text Program text messages, but message and data rates may apply. If you have any questions about your text or data plan or fees and charges, please contact your mobile carrier directly for details.

Messaging may not be available through all mobile carriers. Participating mobile carriers include, but are not limited to: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Verizon Wireless, and Virgin Mobile. Additional carriers may be added at any time.

Messages are subject to any terms and conditions imposed by your mobile carrier. Mobile carriers are not liable for undelivered or delayed messages, or for the content of any messages.

You may opt out of receiving Marketing Text Program text messages at any time by replying STOP to a Marketing Text Program text message received from us. After doing so, you may receive a single text message from us confirming that you have been unsubscribed from the Marketing Text Program. Following that confirmation message, no additional Marketing Text Program text messages will be sent to you unless you change your mind and choose to opt in to the Marketing Text Program again.

Do not send us any sensitive personal information in response to any Marketing Text Program text message. You acknowledge that Marketing Text Program text messages are sent to you without being encrypted. The information in the text messages is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We are not responsible for any loss or damage that could result from interception or misuse of any information by third parties or undelivered text messages. We cannot guarantee the timing or actual receipt of any text messages, as such matters are affected by factors outside of our control.

We will not share your mobile phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. If you have any questions regarding our privacy practices, please read our privacy policy here.

We may revise, modify, or amend these Terms at any time, without notice, except as required by law. Any revision, modification, or amendment will be effective when it is posted to our website. You agree to review these Terms periodically to ensure that you are aware of any changes. Your continued participation in our Marketing Text Program after the Terms have changed will constitute your acceptance of those changes.  We reserve the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, all or any part of our Marketing Text Program, with or without notice.

We may suspend or terminate your participation in our Marketing Text Program if we believe you are in breach of these Terms or any other agreement you have with us. Your receipt of our Marketing Text Program texts is also subject to termination if your mobile phone service terminates or lapses. 

To receive Text Messaging from us, you must be a resident of the United States with a domestic mobile phone number and 18 years of age or older. We reserve the right to require you to prove that you are at least 18 years of age. We do not intend to or knowingly collect information for participation in our Marketing Text Program from individuals under thirteen (13) years of age.
