A Story of Resilience: United Federal Credit Union Reopens in Hendersonville South

  • Community
Hendersonville South

When Hurricane Helene swept through Western North Carolina in September 2024, it left a trail of devastation that touched countless lives and businesses. Among those impacted was United Federal Credit Union’s Southern Hendersonville branch—a place that had long been a trusted partner for the community. The storm’s flooding forced doors to close, leaving Members without a physical branch during one of their most challenging times.

But the story didn’t end there.

United's Commitment Never Wavered

Hendersonville South Branch Team

Even without a branch on the south side of town, Team United sprang into action. They reached out to Members—individuals and business owners alike—asking, “How can we help?” From guiding recovery efforts to providing financial support, the team worked tirelessly to help neighbors rebuild and regain stability. It wasn’t just about banking; it was about standing shoulder-to-shoulder with a community in crisis.

United also made significant donations to help with relief efforts in Western North Carolina, amounting to more than $100K by February 2025.

A New Chapter Begins

Hendersonville South Ribbon Cutting Ceremony 2025

Fast forward to late September 2025: United proudly reopened its doors at 855 Spartanburg Hwy, introducing a modern branch designed to better serve Members in Southern Hendersonville. This reopening isn’t just a milestone—it’s a symbol of resilience, renewal, and the power of community.

Stronger Together

Western North Carolina showed what true strength looks like. Businesses rebuilt. Families persevered. Neighbors supported neighbors. And through it all, United was honored to be part of that journey. Today, as we welcome Members back into our new branch, we do so with gratitude and pride.

Thank You, Hendersonville

Your trust and support made this possible. We’re proud to call this community home—and even prouder to serve you.
