
ST. JOSEPH, Mich. – United Federal Credit Union (United) is pleased to announce the promotion of Barbara Berken to the position of Director of Enterprise Projects & Process Excellence. Berken brings over two decades of experience in credit union operations, project management, and process improvement to her new role at United.

Berken will oversee the Project Management Office’s portfolio, developing and maintaining project management methodologies, standards, and tools. She will drive project performance through consistent, repeatable, and predictable project management processes. Additionally, Berken will act as a driving force in managing process improvement initiatives across the company by working with business leaders to identify waste in processes, deliver business benefits, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Berken has spent her career helping credit unions achieve operational excellence. Her time in the industry has been marked by her dedication to maintaining high standards of quality, training, and operational efficiencies across all teams. Berken has been with United since 2024 and was most recently the Senior Project Manager. She has held various leadership roles in the project management industry, overseeing and leading cross-functional teams, streamlining processes, and driving operational efficiencies.
