Van Buren, Arkansas – United Federal Credit Union’s Van Buren, Arkansas Branch Manager, Kim Wilson, has been named Ambassador of the Year by the Van Buren Chamber of Commerce.

Ambassadors play many important roles at the Chamber, including attending ribbon cutting and grand opening celebrations, setting up events, networking with others, as well as helping in the recruitment and retention of members.

“I am so honored to have been chosen for this award and want to thank everyone at the Van Buren Chamber of Commerce for this incredible recognition,” Wilson said. “Volunteering and connecting with my community is my passion, and I truly believe that in order to make the most positive impact, I need to know what is going on, and actively find ways to help it become a better place to live and work.”

The Van Buren Chamber of Commerce has served the community for more than 60 years, and actively delivers on its mission to prepare, develop, and promote the Van Buren community for economic growth.

A big part of following through on its mission is to provide Chamber members with opportunities for engagement through various committees and the Ambassadors program. These also facilitate networking and help members learn more about local needs and ways they can give back.

“Kim has been dedicated to all of the aspects of being a Chamber Ambassador,” said Phyllis Thompson, Director of Membership for the Van Buren Chamber of Commerce. “She promotes her employer and our community with pride, and always has a smile on her face. Kim is very helpful and dependable in volunteering as a Chamber Ambassador, and is a great asset to our program.”
