local. loyal. lifelong.
For more than 70 years, United Federal Credit Union has been committed to serving Members right here in southwest Michigan.
We were founded by five employees at the Whirlpool manufacturing plant in St. Joseph, MI. A part-time volunteer staff ran the credit union from a cash box in the personnel office. From those humble beginnings, United has grown to more than 30 branches in six states, over $3.0 billion in assets, and over 177,000 members.
As we offer more products and services (in-branch and online) than ever before, we hold true to our values and our dedication to advancing the financial services experience by creating lifelong relationships with our Members. With roots in the Southwest Michigan areas, and our headquarters located almost in your backyard, we know what's happening locally and take our commitment to our Members and our communities to heart.
what it means to be a United Member
As a Member, you’re actually an owner of the credit union! That’s right—we’re a non-profit cooperative and that means we return earnings back to the membership in the form of higher rates on deposits, lower loan rates, and enhanced services.
At United, we always give our Members the real advice they need to make the financial decisions that are best for them. Talk to us in person or digitally, where you can receive real-time feedback with our online chat.
